New hard drive

NVR DS-7604NI-K1 / 4P(B)

My NVR has been occasionally beeping about once a month or so. When this happens, in Hic connect, i see "HDD Exception" and i lose all saved video untill i log into the web interface and format the drive, then everything works fine untill it happens again.

Will a new hard drive solve this and if so, would a WD23PURZ drive be compatible?

It does sound like there could be a fault with the HDD.

We have seen similar recurring HDD faults when there is a damaged/bad sector in the HDD.

We would recommend replacing it with the WD23PURZ model.

The WD22 model is the older generation of 2TB HDD, so it is probably old stock that has been on the shelf for longer than the WD23 model.
