My line crossing detection seems to freeze the captured video but not the sound. It freezes on the image and the jumps 5 secs on the recorded time. How ever the sound still records in the frozen image. I'm not sure if it's when the entry is triggered as the exit doesn't freeze. I had this a while ago too when a car flew past and the video lost the image of the car due to the freeze!! Any ideas. My system is ds7608ni 12. Up to date software
Camera is 4k DS-2CD2387G2-LU

Possibly:
- your Main Stream (event) settings don’t match Main Stream (normal)
- record schedule advanced - pre event recording set to something other then 0 seconds

Hi. As far as I can see on the laptop the main stream in the camera is main stream normal and on the nvr via laptop its main stream continuous ( there is no option for normal on that) just main stream cont, sub stream, main stream event, and transcoded stream
And again if I'm in the correct place the recording settings are 5 secs pre record and 5secs post record on the camera and system via the laptop.

On the NVR in the recording settings there are Main Stream Normal and Main Stream Event - it's important that they match. If you go to Video Parameters and click the drop down you can see it. Select Main Stream (Event) and make sure the settings are the same as what they are when Main Stream (Normal) is displayed. It doesn't matter which you leave selected when you come out of the page as the settings are view only once saved. The below is a K series but the settings should look similar:

Set the 5 seconds pre record to 0 seconds click save, then copy to all cameras and save again. Pre record is unnecessary if you're recording 24/7 continuous. I've not see the issue you're having for some time but when I did, altering those settings resolved it. I'm not sure exactly why, possibly some additional recording being buffered. Never seen it on the M model so can only assume it's performance related.

Thank you for ghe reply. I will look again when home. There is no option for 0 seconds. It starts from 5 then increases from there.
Ps are you doing this from local or on the laptop?

That was via web browser but the same settings are visible locally. If you do it on the main monitor Main Stream (Normal) and Main Stream (event) are shown side by side on the same screen.

5 seconds is the minimum for post event but it's usually 0 or 'no pre record' for pre record:

See attached. Can not drop below 5 secs as no option. Settings all look the same.

It doesn't look right to me, I think it's set up incorrectly.

You should have Main Stream(normal) and Main Stream (event) but you have Main Stream (continuous)? Your 24/7 recording schedule is not enabled. That box that's showing behind the pre event/post event popup should have the box ticked for enable and should be a solid block of blue for 24/7. It should be like that for all cameras on the system. To me it looks as though there is no recording schedule setup and you've started 24/7 manual recording.

I think i have it on continuous as i wanted it to record all the time incase I need to search back with the line outside of the area I have set and line crossing.
If I click event the 3 blocks directly underneath all grey out

What I'm saying is that it looks like you're recording continuously manually rather than scheduled. The image you posted is that it's not scheduled to be continuous as theres no tick in the box - selecting continuous on the drop down has zero effect unless it's ticked.

So i changed the main stream to event on laptop but when I went back it had reverted to continuous. Is that cause on the nvr it's self it's continuous? Does it need to be changed on that?

On another note just realised my 2nd and 3rd cameras are not sending triggers to my hikconnect app!! The led lights come on when triggered but nothing sent to hikconnect. Even the 4k one is only getting line crossing detection but not area triggers. All boxes pressed, all blue boxed, all linkage notification center ticked.

As I explained further up, the drop down on the browser UI does not change anything - it just displays the settings for that mode allowing you to alter them and save them for that mode, so nothing changed and nothing reverted back. 24/7 continuous recording should be set be enabled (with the tick in the enable box) and that continuous schedule will be painted solid blue. In your image the 'enable' box is clearly not ticked and the schedule is clearly empty.

Yeah the image is the local nvr and I attempted to do it on the laptop. I will do the nvr.

I think you are misunderstanding. It doesn't matter whether you do it locally on the NVR, on a laptop browser, on iVMS - it's all changing the same settings.
