I have read that you can fit 2 HDD's to one Sata using a splitter cable in a PC.
But can this be done with a Hikvision NVR to add extra storage ? or can a USB HDD be use in the same way the sata hdd are ?
Or is there a way i can add another storage to my home network ?

What i am trying to do is set up just one camera that will record to it's own HDD/Storage.
I have a Hilook 5mp VF camera that is covering the path outside my gates.
This is because i am p155ed o$$ with people not picking up there dogs poo outside my home.
I have 2 GSD and its not hard to clean up after them.
I want it on its own HDD/Storage so i only keep the footage for a short time before its deleted, not like the rest of my cameras.

Hi @Mart68

As far as we are aware it won't be possible to use a SATA splitter in the Hikvision NVRs because the Hikvision software is only expecting one HDD for each SATA connection and 2 HDDs connected to the same SATA will likely not be detected.

You can add Network HDDs using the instructions in this User Manual

So if i add a NAS to my network via my TP-Link splitter, i should be able to use that for just the one camera storage ?

Yes, you should be able to use a NAS as external network storage.
