HiKvision Switch unable to connect

I have a DS-3E0318P-e(b) switch that I am trying to setup


the guide says to set my pc up on 192.168.0.2 or above and then navigate to 192.168.0.1 however it wont find the switch has anyone had this before?

I can connect cameras to the switch and they will appear in SADP but i really need to be editing the switch

Can you ping the switch from the pc?

Not able to ping the switch or see it via Port scanning.

If I connect it to another switch I can see my laptop from the other switch but not the Hikvision switch itself

the specifications I saw say the switch is unmanaged, there is nothing to setup. Have I misunderstood?

Hi @dturtill

@David is correct, the switch model you have is an unmanaged switch which means it is just a basic piece of networking hardware and cannot be logged in to to adjust any settings, you would need a managed switch to be able to login to the switch.

thanks that makes more sense and as this will be a setup and leave system is ideal
