installed ok.
didnt expect much of a change.
web version has newer build date but same version.
the mobile view on my phone finally displays the user and channel manager properly without having to switch to desktop mode to use it.. very happy...

I installed this version and it bricked my NVR so be careful and do some research first.....

Would suggest you first check if your serial number on your NVR begins with 589 and is 9 digit and if so i would advise against installing any v4.61.xxxx firmware updates

I did managed to get mine back online but its not a simple task to do so....

maybe you could share the research and your findings. given that the i-series is eol of a while and the previous 4.61.x was released in 2022, my guess is most users that still have an i-series NVR already have 4.61 installed.
and if you came from a previous lower release, yes, its well known not to jump up, but install multiple small step incremental releases..

My recommendation if for the OP to research before installing to check what version he/she is coming from > to to minimise risk of bricking.

I'm not sure whether this update is available anywhere online. If I can find it I don't mind sacrificing one of my two DS-7616NI-I2/16P units that are spare. They're currently on Gumtree for sale and I only get idiots asking about them!

I wonder if it's camera firmware. As the update has never worked properly, it isn't clear whether the NVR can update firmware for the connected cameras. 5.07.014 is the same as 5.7.14 and the corresponding 5.7.14 in G5 firmware has that same build date (231028). There's no reference to a version 5 firmware for the I series anywhere on the internet; 4.61.030 being the newest available

i like the thinking, makes a lot of sense. its a feature.. not a bug..
