Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

Ok I've found another bug in Hik-Connect 6.10.x. This one regards AcuSearch. Steps to repeat:
  • Select playback in Hik-Connect and select 'Human' as the filter (to speed up finding a suitable target to search for)
  • Click 'AcuSearch' - the app scans the screen and shows the possible targets to search for
  • Select a target and the app shows a page of possible results as thumbnails with the camera and time of capture....
The capture time shown alongside the thumbnail is plus one hour. When you click the thumbnail, rather than play the 30 seconds of video that includes the target, it plays 30 seconds of video from one hour later. Example - I did a search selecting myself as the target and it found a clip of me walking across the garden and labelled it as 20:13, clicking it started playback at 20:13 but I wasn't in the image. When I manually selected playback at 19:13 I found the footage shown in the thumbnail. Doing the same search on the local UI and web UI of the VPro worked correctly.
 
I remember this issue some time ago and if I remember well this was a region time setting or NTP time server. Default Google1 something.. was not working and changed to time.windows.
Another strange thing with the app is that even if time and region is set on KV6113 settings, when uninstalling and reinstalling this is always found on Beijing and have to change again. I think there is no time setting for NVR so this might not be related
I would like to add one more "issue" on Notifications area.
You cannot filter Target Type Human and Vehicles. Just Event Type motion intrusion...

@alfaclvi - I've just had a response from Hikvisions support engineer. I've reported three issues:

1 - Unable to sort sites correctly. Local sites forced to top of list
2 - The playback snapping to the previously selected position
3 - The time on the thumbnails 1 hour out causing the video playback to be one hour out when clicking the thumbnail

For issue 3 he's also blaming the time. Timezone is correctly set to London/Lisbon, DST is configured correctly and the system time on that menu correctly reflects the current time. One thing I've just noticed was that the NTP was showing 'ntp.hikproconnect.com' (or similar) when I was sure I'd set up Platform Time Sync on the Hik-Connect page which always overrides NTP. I certainly didn't set the NTP to hikproconnect as I use uk.pool.ntp.org. It looks as though although I'd set "Platform Time Sync' on the NVR, the site in my Hik-Partner Pro app has the default option of 'Sync Time & Time Zone to Device' selected so I wonder if HPP has overridden the setting on the NVR. I've now turned that option off on HPP, reselected Platform Time Sync and rebooted the NVR. I'll retest it but will open a new ticket if it's still incorrect.
 
I've just realised regarding the above bug:

AcuSeek in Hik-Connect - the thumbnail time displays correctly; clicking the thumbnail plays back that correct time
AcuSearch in Hik-Connect - the thumbnail time displays one hour out; clicking the thumbnail plays back that incorrect time so the clip does not include what is shown in the thumbnail.
 
The one hour out on AcuSearch has been repeated and acknowledged by Hikvision engineer. What I don't know is where it's a Hik-Connect 6.10.x issue or a VPro firmware bug...
 
6.10.840 now on Android, nothing fixed. As soon as controls bar is hidden on timeline playback, the bar becomes uncontrollable with 1 minute jumps. The other option for clip view(in timeline playback, not on Event messages) is far worse. Clips minutes are whatever, completely different than the one seen on timeline and of course target is lost cause of the centuries lasting problem of starting just on time and not on pre-record
There also, the Cloud button dissappeared. Used as trick to bring back target detection green grid
 
Cloud button was always missing from google play store version but existed on hik app store version of hikconnect. Was also double the size the one from hik

I've just opened a case on Hik-Partner pro app for the sort order issue and will do the same for any other issues I come across. It can't hurt to make them aware.

So I reported issues 1 & 2 via HPP. The response was not positive; they've just said it works fine for them and asked what make, model, software phone is and what model and version NVR is. As both issues are occurring on multiple phones with different iOS versions and while connected to different NVR models, providing that info will be pretty pointless.

We 've seen those kind of answers lately. If you insist complaining, the greatest possibility is the NVR to go earlier EOL globally, but not in Europe, till they sell them all. Like mine :-)

Android : I do not have "Display VCA Rule" at all, in Notification section Playback. Seen only on thumbnail and this works fine in "Event Messages" section for each camera.
Possibly, they do not see that too and this works fine...

Just checked - that's the same on iOS version too
 
So...

1. - the inability to sort sites and keep the local one at the bottom. They won't acknowledge that was ever possible (I didn't imagine it)
2 - The playback snapping back. I sent a screen recording demonstrating it and they responded with a screen recording that theirs works. I can repeat the issue on three different iPhones connecting to three different NVR models on three different Hik-Connect accounts. But his iPhone 12 is ok so guess it's case closed.

Hopeless..they couldn't empty water from a boot if you wrote instructions on the sole!

1. "Smart Search" not working on Accusense NXI-K NVR
"Smart Search" in app settings is called Intelligent Search which is something different. Once again they confused smart search with intelligent search same way with firmwares for NXI-K after v4.83.013 and.. 14.
Smart search should work on all NVR supporting smart search and not only Accusense NVRs with specific firmwares.
2. Playback especially in Landscape and manually moving dragging the timeline, starts jumbing with one minute jumps, making impossible to control. At the beginning this is OK, but after timeline is hidden and try to move again, the problem starts.
3. Notifications Playback has no Display VCA Rule and no Highlight Moving Objects. Same thing if selecting clips viewed by Notification - Playback - Event Messages.
4. Notifications Playback in Landscape has no controls. Touch does not bring back playback controls. Only zooming works. Same thing again, if selecting clips viewed by Notification - Playback - Event Messages.
Issues 3 and 4 do not exist if clips are played back by Camera selection - Event Messages.
5. Playing back with timeline, at the beginning all VCA and Targets are visible. Dragging moving the timeline to next target the motion grid, smart detection boxes and drawn rules are lost.
6. Filter playback with multiple combination of human, vehicle, event is not possible
7. On select camera - Playback - switch from view timeline to view "clips", the clips revealed are a whatever duration. For example a marker could be 30 seconds but the clip could be 10 15 or even 20 minutes.

No new iOS version yet - I just checked. However there's a new version of HPP after the same 3 week wait so I'll keep checking. I love on the iOS app store for 'What's new' they seem to list the same things that were listed as new in the previous version or 'fix some bugs' which is little help.
 
Playback is still broke for me. I can scroll and pick a point on the timeline but then after moving it a few times, the playback keeps snapping back to the previous time selection rather than the newly selected position. Hopeless.
Scrolling and jumping while moving the timeline makes playback to points unreachable.

I just updated to V6.10.840.20251016.3 on iOS... it seems to have fixed the playback snapping/jumping to previous time issue.

Yeah I noticed the same when I updated this morning. I closed the case with Hikvision Support (a bit pointless as they wouldn’t acknowledge the problem existed)

I’m hoping the notification delay I have on the VPro will improve but won’t get to check until the weekend as I’m away. That seems to be an issue with Hik-Connect as I can get a notification immediately using the same Line Crossing event through node-red
