Opinions on Milesight products?

We had a direct relationship with the factory.
We imported a fair bit.
Reliability was a big issue - we experienced a much higher failure rate than we were comfortable with / used to with other brands.
Especially with their mini-PTZ, but also even with basic fixed cameras.
And resolving issues was quite challenging (basically, you cannot send faulty product back to China, and at the time they had no office in Europe).
They produce products that look great.
Their website is amongst the best in class.
Their user interfaces were better-looking than most.
They were slow with improvements e.g. for modern browsers and Macs.
Their roadmap for future IP CCTV wasn't ideal; instead of releasing better core products, they concentrated on fancy e.g. fisheye cameras.
They lost focus, and have gone all IoT (merged with AN Other?).
We dropped them, a few years back, and only have clearance product remaining ...
