Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL 8MP - Pros and Cons?

Hi,

Planning on getting the new DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL 8MP camera for my driveway.
I have a lamp post across the road so lighting is not bad.
I don't want a PIR floodlight so thinking if I get this camera, it will allow me to set the light to come on when motion is detected on my driveway.

The camera does have a 'C' so it will be the G5 firmware version.

Is this the correct camera for my intended use case?
What's pro's and con's with this camera?

Yes, the DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL (C) model will support the white light on motion feature, but you may find that the street lighting gives you enough lighting and the built-in white light might not add much to the scene.

In regards to image quality, there aren't really any cons to the above model except that in some scenarios the built-in light can be too bright and not that useful. The biggest con of the 8MP AcuSense/ColorVu cameras is that they do use a very large amount of bandwidth and so you can see issues when adding these cameras to an existing older NVR (especially if it is a small NVR model - 4ch/8ch).
