What are the settings for Linkage Method for both Motion and Smart Events? Is Notify Surveillance Center enabled?
Did you check your cameras GUI interface to see if all the event configuration setting set on your NVR are also "passed" to your cameras? Sometimes some settings are not.
Are Smart Events set to AI by Camera or AI by NVR?

Hi @alfaclvi - yes my linkage is set to “Notify Surveillance” per below screenshot. Given the markers appear perfectly in HikCcnnect app and issue only on web browser, then I’m thinking must be a firmware issue per @JB1970 post above.

Any other thoughts?

Can't help you with your NVR. On my NXI-K and on Edge browser:

Human and Vehicle must previously be set-checked in Camera Event Configuration for Motion and Smart as JB1970 says.

In Playback, Play must be stopped(blank screen). The red markers are seen in blue timeline when Human and Vehicle are checked without pressing Play button. Also those markers are visible on every kind of window division.

In Playback Smart Search by Rule(lamp??) the window division as JB said above, must be 1x1 and Play must be pressed.
The first filter Button when pressed gives results for Motion Detection, possibly the Area and sensitivity previously set in camera configuration. You cannot draw Grid Boxes as you should, since this is a By Rules Search.
The second and third filter buttons are Draw a Line and Draw a Frame. For both to work, Human and Vehicle must be deselected, otherwise Hikvision geniuses give you a popup message that their product is a fraud and specificaly "The camera does not support searching videos that contain human and vehicle. Please uncheck human/vehicle and try again"
 
On your camera that doesn’t show event markers on your computer playback timeline, are the markers present via the phone Hik Connect app? If so then yes we have identical issue so camera firmware must be the issue.
I didn’t think to check that but just have and yes, all markers are visible in Hik-Connect; it’s just the local UI where they’ve stopped working after camera firmware change.
Is there a way to log this error with Hik so Hik fix in future firmware updates?
There is but it’s pointless. Trying to prove to them that something is not working as it should be is usually proves fruitless. I’ve given up.

And yet still no markers on the web browser timeline, which is the same behaviour @JB1970 is seeing for his camera with the latest 5.7.19 firmware. This is regardless of whether I have a 1x1 display, or multiple displays, and where I have Play or Stop on the video...

Thanks for suggesting but I'm still thinking a firmware issue.

Do your cameras have the latest 5.7.19 firmware - cause if they did and your event markers were fine, then that would potentially rule out a camera firmware issues.

And which version of firmware do you have installed on your cameras?

And I might try to install a previous version of firmware in one of cameras in next few days and see if that fixes it.
 
This is V5.7.15 and I suppose this will be the last one for me until I "EOL" my G5s.
I have noticed and reported on this forum the problem with GUI 5 firmwares since last June. v5.7.17, v5.7.18 and v5.7.19
The Dual VCA(and Save Camera VCA Data) for all NVRs does not work anymore.
Do not be confused with Intelligent Search or AcuSearch of Acusense NXI NVRs. No relation with that.
This is about the Smart Search or By Rule Search.
Of course there is a warning in Configuration on Camera GUI, that after enabling AcuSearch Function the ongoing smart application will be disabled, but even if disabled in v5.7.17, v5.7.18 and v5.7.19 the Smart Search on Playback does not work

Hi @JB1970 - you wouldn’t happen to have a copy of the 5.7.15 global firmware files for following cameras you can attach here so I can install ? (as Australian site has very old camera firmware and global site only has latest 5.7.19):

- DS-2CD2T87G2-L (C)

Not sure there are any 'global' files per se. Whenever I use a file from the Hikvision Global English site it's the same as the one that later appears on the Hikvision UK site. The 5.7.15 version is on the UK portal here:

Thanks for that @JB1970. I uploaded 5.7.15 to one of my cameras and its still not showing human and vehicle markers.

I give up - I'll have to be happy with searching for events in the Event Centre -> Event Search function. That at least gives me a chronological list of all events along with a Picture snapshot and short video of the event - that gives me all that I really need to be honest.

Again thanks for all your help over the last several days on this.
 
Another alternative to browsers, could be the iVMS4200 client if using a Windows PC. There are many issues there too, this is more complicated on usage, but there are also many things that you cannot do with a browser.
You can test this and check if Playback Human and Vehicle markers are visible there.
You must previously have installed latest LocalServiceComponents and WebPlugins from Hikvision or if asked so inside programm

Thanks and very useful. Downloaded the iVMS4200 software and yes whilst it’s a bit clunky, shows the playback timeline with human and vehicle event markers nicely.

Does this for all cameras correctly, even those with latest 5.7.19 firmware.
 
FWIW, back in June 2024, I complained about the Playback "Event Markers" being off by an hour.

Now that I am off Daylight Savings Time & back on Standard Time, the new Event Markers are no longer off by that 1 hour (aka DST Bias).

Just a heads up to HIK Development..... you still need to fix this.
March 9 2025, I'm now back on DST. This issue has returned on v5.04.050....... Playback Event Markers on my Web Chrome Browser are off by 1 hour again.

Thx for NOT addressing this HIK Development. It's only been a year.

EDIT: Oddly enough, a direct login to my Panoramic DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL @ V5.7.20 build 241120 displays the playback time on Event Markers correctly. aka the camera handles the 1 hour DST offset correctly. Time for the NVR Development team to set up.

I've been reading the thread and noticed I have the exact same issue with both Edge and Chrome browsers on a PC. i.e, no event markers on Playback timeline, and yet on my iPhone I have them.

Settings are correct and the Human / Vehicle icons are there, however the icon with the tick isn't, (this icon isn't listed in the playback icon description section of the online help files) What is it for and is it needed?

Also due to the issues with the later FW releases my NVR is still on 5.03.020_240904
I note that the missing timeline markers was attributed to the 5.7.19 firmware yet mine are still on 5.7.15_240411
Noting that JohnD has downgraded to 5.7.15 and markers are still missing in the browser, I'm not sure now if them being missing is a good enough reason NOT to upgrade to the latest FW on cams and NVR.

Agreed. All my cameras and NVR are now on latest.

No idea what that shield symbol is for - it’s on my PC browsers but not iPhone.
 
Does anyone know if theres a way to have “full screen monitoring on motion? Or if theres any plans for it to return, it seemed like it was removed on V5 release but was really handy for my screen to go full screen whenever a cam detected motion

After upgrading the firmware to 5.04.050 the shield icon with the tick is now visible in the browser... apparently it is for privacy protection.
