Ah ok, that explains everything.
The creation of zones is only in the latest firmware of some NVRs?

Firmware Version V4.61.025 build 220905
EncodingVersion V5.0 build 220905
Hardware Version 0100054103000000
WebVersion V4.5.0 build 220817
Plugin Version V3.0.8.12

I don't know if it's the last FW.
That's right. There's a slightly newer version for yours (4.61.030), but it may not receive further updates. It seems a strange decision not to update the I series top have that feature, as the cheaper original K series does have it. Here's the link to 4.61.030:

Update FW OK:

Firmware Version V4.61.030 build 240123
Encoding Version V5.0 build 221117
Hardware Version 0100054103000000
Web Version V4.5.0 build 231117
Plugin Version V3.0.8.13

But i can't create an area, i haven't got the icon.
Nothing has changed.

I imported only my camera, excluding NVR, but no zone icon on hik-connect.
I am disgusted :-(

What version would you need a FW ?
V5 ?

Is it f@*!$d up or can I still believe it?

Thanks a lot ;-)

That's correct. Even the very latest version for your NVR does not support the Areas feature. As that NVR is 'End of life' Hikvision may never add any new features to it; they'll possibly only provide updates to deal with any security vulnerabilities that are discovered. If that particular feature is a 'must have' for you you'd need to replace the NVR with a current model that already has the feature.

There's nothing 'f*****d up' as you so eloquently put it. When I took my car for a service it didn't get an upgrade for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as it's not a current model. That's life/c'est la vie.....
