Smart Search Playback Greyed Out?

Hi – I've recently upgraded to a new NVR using existing cameras

DS-7732NI-I4 / 16P

V4.61.030 build 240123

And all is working well.

I use a web interface for admin purposes and when viewing playback the “smart search” is greyed out.

On my older NVR you could use this function to highlight Events rather than just the solid blue line of continuous playback.

Events are recording correctly – if I use the search tab – it finds the events.

I’d rather not use IVMS, I find I know where I am on the web interface (but maybe I don’t!)

Any help appreciated.

UPDATE
I think I've sorted it.

If you have multiple windows (playback) then its greyed out.
If you have just single view selected then it is not greyed out!

so just change from default 16 ch down to 1.
Check these:

  • VCA Resource is set to Smart Event for your cameras
  • Enable Dual-VCA is enabled on your cameras. Double check this on Browser or iVMS4200 settings of your NVR. Video/Audio-Display info on Stream-Enable Dual VCA is checked on all cameras
  • Save Camera VCA Data is enabled on NVR
  • Enable Dynamic Analysis for Motion is enabled on your cameras
What are the cameras you are using and what is the firmware installed?

Via web Browser-your NVR ip and login Configuration or iVMS4200 Remote Configuration Basic Settings-Storage-Advanced Settings-Other-check Save VCA Data
Via Local GUI interface(NVR) Go to Storage > Advanced to enable Save VCA Data

The rest:

VCA Resource:
Browser-your camera ip and login Configuration or iVMS4200 Remote Configuration Basic Settings-System-System Settings-VCA Resource- Smart Event
Enable Dual-VCA:
Browser-your camera ip and login Configuration or iVMS4200 Remote Configuration Basic Settings-Video/Audio-Display Info on Stream-Enable-Dual-VCA

Enable Dynamic Analysis for Motion:
Browser-your camera ip and login Configuration or iVMS4200 Remote Configuration Basic Settings-Event-Basic Event-Enable Motion Detection and Enable Dynamic Analysis for Motion
Same above setting except VCA Resource can be found on NVR settings:

Browser-your NVR ip and login Configuration or iVMS4200 Remote Configuration Basic Settings-Video/Audio-Display Info on Steam-select your camera-Enable-Dual-VCA
Browser-your NVR ip and login Configuration or iVMS4200 Remote Configuration Basic Settings-Event-Basic Event-select your camera-Enable Motion Detection and Enable Dynamic Analysis for Motion
If your cameras are Acusense cameras, here this should be VCA Mode By Camera or AI by Camera. I don't know about your NVR..

Thank you very much, it is appreciated.

I have checked everything and its all correct, but cant find Save VCA Data.

Using a web interface I have
Storage
HDD Management
Net HDD
HDD Detection
Cloud

Other settings in Storage are
Schedule
Advanced - Holiday - others
External
Backup

Am I missing something obvious?

Not sure if this helps, but if I select Search on the NVR (via Web)
Dowload by event
then it does show a list of events.

This tells me that it is recognising that an event has happened??
