Hi,

A client has a shed and wants cameras installed. We’re currently using a DeepinMind series NVR with DarkFighter cameras, but the night image quality is still pretty hard to make out. I’m wondering whether ColorVu would be a better option.

The client doesn’t want the LED light running all night, as he’s concerned it will attract bugs and cause false alarms on his phone. What would you recommend in this situation?

I
I have Colorvu and hybrid cameras installed in my home.
The Colorvu has a much better color image at night, but at close range, no more than 10 meters. The exposure is set to 1/75 in complete darkness. Beyond 15 meters, ghosting slowly begins due to the subject's movement. In the summer, the LED attracts insects, but not many. The worst is when a moth lands on the lens.
The hybrid cameras see quite well at night in the infrared setting. Infrared also attracts insects in the summer, but much less. At the same 1/75 exposure in color mode, these cameras are simply weak compared to the Colorvu. Ghosting is noticeable from a distance of about 10 meters, and the color reproduction is poor.

I would currently buy either the Colorvu or the G3 hybrids again, as I've seen them perform better in color mode at night. My cameras are the 2347g2-l and 2347g2h-lisu/sl. False alarms caused by insects are practically non-existent. Only one alarm every two months caused by an insect at night is possible in ColorVu.
